DESCRIPTION

EgroBlend is an individual project with a two-month design process for the Sophomore studio. My role involves design thinking, user interviews, and creating simple mockups. 

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The amateur bakers who love to bake at home need a way to improve the experience of using hand mixers, especially on the handle part.

USER INTERVIEW

I had in-depth user interviews with some amateur bakers. These interviews helped us understand the end-to-end experience of baking.

SECONDARY RESEARCH

Amazon and Target are two websites I read about the reviews on hand mixers. The feedback from users reveals the most common problems amateur bakers could face when using hand mixers.

INSIGHT

ITERATION

1. Improve the comfort of using the mixer for a long time

• Explore diverse shapes of handles, and some ideas are from the tools in the shop.
  

• The reason for discomfort is the center of gravity. It is related to the position of the battery and motor.

• The idea mixer combines the comfortable handle and balance of the center of gravity.

• Simulate the position of the battery and the motor. This testing ensuring the comfort of using the mixer for a long time.

• This posture to grip the mixer is the most comfortable way.
